ADDITIONAL LASER RESPONSIVE TREATMENTS
The use of lasers on the skin had its beginning in more cosmetic applications. It has become evident with the passage of time and usage of these instruments that medical application can achieve results for certain conditions not, heretofore, possible. The laser ray has the capability to penetrate the skin to get to underlying tissues without affecting the epidermis (top layer of skin) as well as affecting the epidermis when desired.
Some of these conditions are as follows. The marked benefit is that there is usually little deformity or cosmetic defect with lasers after the treatment is completed. Further, one may repeat the procedure usually as needed for whatever number of times it takes to accomplish the end result.
-
Rosacea (and Acne Rosacea)
-
(that red flush to the nose and mid-
face that has become so familiar to
us).
Response to a certain laser we have
has been excellent.
-
Cherry Angiomas
- (discrete small blood vessels in varying numbers
on the trunk as a rule).
- Stretch Marks
- (need no identification. We all know them).
- Sebaceous Hyperplasia
- (benign tumors on the face of varying
sizes).
These are often present with Rosacea.
They respond to lasers very well.
- Purpura
- (ruptured usually capillary blood vessels especially on the
lower extremities where they make the skin take on a red
flush).
- Venous Lakes
- (small blood tumors on the lips and ears).
- Stasis Dermatitis
- (ruptured small blood vessels and deposited iron
pigment in the legs).
- Various types of benign growths on the skin surface.
The above are managed easily, safely and quickly with lasers.
